acceptance:
students with detected magical aptitude are automatically accepted into the program and invited via owl to start their attendance the first september following their 18th birthday. at the beginning of the student's first term, they will be sorted into one of four hogwarts houses: gryffindor, ravenclaw, hufflepuff, or slytherin.
degree program:
rather than a 7-year education like hogwarts in the books, students will enter a 4-year degree program. years one through three will consist of general magical education, and year four will be dedicated to studying the student's chosen specializations (one major/one minor or double major/one minor).
year one: covers years one-three coursework from books
year two: covers years four-five coursework from books (take O.W.L.s at end of term)
year three: covers years six-seven coursework from books (take N.E.W.T.s at end of term)
year four: study major(s)/minor
housing:
year one through year three students are all required to live on castle grounds in their house's dormitory, however year four students are welcome to live off campus.
