| spellbound is a modern day harry potter community set in wizarding london. the world could use some extra magic right now, and we hope that spellbound will be a laidback, interactive community where everyone can have fun together without judgment. you can expect plenty of magical plots, group activites, creative updates, and drama out in the open. that being said, please be respectful of other people and keep all conflict ic. |

your character can be from anywhere in the world as long as they currently reside in the uk. all kinds of characters and personality types are welcome and encouraged! a variety of personalities means that not everyone will get along, but conflict should always remain ic. while we do allow darker characters, please keep in mind death eaters no longer exist and dark activity is policed by the ministry. you are welcome to bring your character from a previous community. characters with special abilities (such as being a werewolf, animagus, etc.) are allowed on a first come, first serve basis after joining and will be capped. while we don't require a full biography to join, please fill out the below character survey in your ooc post.

| you should intro in spells within 72 hours of being added. there is a monthly update requirement that you can fulfill however you want (narrative, hover narrative, photoshop update, interactive post, etc.). beyond that, we ask that you be present and active on the friends page! we understand times are tough right now but we should see you regularly posting and commenting throughout the month. there will be plenty to do with mini plots, group threads, free for all posts, games, gossip, auctions, and more. if at any time you need hiatus and/or extension, you can ask in the members only post! you should also regularly be updating your friends list and we'll remove anyone who hasn't updated theirs or shown any signs of activity within two weeks. please avoid things like plug.dj, rabb.it, instagram/tinder posts, or other activities based around muggle technology. we will not be implementing any messaging platforms (wire, discord, etc.) either and would rather everyone focus on being active on the friends page. |

| spellbound follows the canon of the harry potter universe. journals and communities should be treated as enchanted parchments that your witches and wizards use to communicate with each other. while it's not required that you choose a handwriting font, you may claim one in alley, our directores journal. while it's entirely possible the wizarding world is more welcoming of muggle technologies, we'd like to avoid typical slice-of-life technology like instagram and tinder posts. we may implement a wizarding version in the future. |
